The Method
Combining traditional Indian massage procedures with postures inspired by Yoga, the Kusum Modak Method - Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapy is respected by health and wellness experts around the world and recognized as one of the most complete therapeutic techniques.
With wisdom, Kusum combined two ancient Indian sciences to create her own method, capable of treating different diseases as well as preserving health. The complete method has more than 120 maneuvers, responsible for acting on our physiological system and leading to physical, mental and emotional transformations.
With slow and deep touches, using natural oils and a powder extracted from the medicinal plant calamus, we perform sliding, traction and pressure movements, using the hands and feet. In this way, we stimulate circulation and prepare the muscles and joints for extensions, flexions and twists.
This intense work combined with conscious breathing provides a state of meditation and recovery of the flow of vital energy.
It relieves tension, realigns the spine, strengthens the immune system, nourishes the skin, balances the nervous system and the production of well-being hormones.
Physical
Promotes relaxation, restores mind-body communication, improves focus and concentration, combats stress and its symptoms, such as insomnia, impatience, apathy and depression.
Mental
It favors the process of self-knowledge, promotes the alignment of energy and emotional centers, awakens self-confidence and self-esteem.
Emotional
Benefits
Kusum Modak was born on April 28, 1938, in Pune, India. Independent, authentic and courageous, Kusum faced the challenges of Indian culture when she decided to travel the world, in the 1980s, to share her discoveries about health and self-knowledge processes.
It was serious respiratory and spinal problems during her youth that led the Indian teacher to follow the path in search of a cure. Determined, at the age of 40, she found in the ancient sciences of Yoga and traditional Indian massage the first clues about the processes of transformation of our body.
Just like her work, which is profound and welcoming, master Kusum Modak is known for her objective and firm personality, while at the same time being kind and loving.
Of Brahmin lineage, focused on benevolence, meditation and faith, Kusum inherited from her father, the doctor Narayan Krishna Modak, and her mother, Susheela Modak, the strength and character responsible for shaping her gift and her trajectory.
